This may be a silly topic but do you have a favourite commercial? One that makes you laugh every time? Or cry? Or maybe there's one that you remember from long ago?
What's Your Favourite Commercial?
When I first read that this was the current topic, I was a little baffled. Commercials?? I thought, those stupid short slots on Television where someone usually tries to sell you some product that you don't really need? Who cares about commercials?
Then I realised there are some commercials that actually have more use than selling products. What about the NSPCC (National Society for the prevention of cruelty to children) or The Cancer society (and other charities) asking you to help their cause by donating? Surely those commercials mean something? I sometimes find them hard-hitting and difficult to watch(especially some of the NSPCC ones)but they mean more than the usual "BUY ME AND YOUR LIFE WILL BE PERFECT!!!" type ads.
Yet sadly some people seem to pay no attention to them and would rather buy unnecessary items than donate to charity.
I myself am not perfect, but I would rather donate money to charity then waste it on the latest anti-cellulite cream being advertised. Oh and as a side point, most of the products advertised couldn't possibly work as well as they are said to.
I may have gone off topic with this rant, but it is my way of expressing that the only commercials that matter to me are the ones that have some meaning to them. So my favorite commercials are the charity ones that make you think about things more, and realise there is more to life than being a consumer.
